Delphine de Giradin (1804-1855)

French writer and journalist (b. 24 January 1804 [N.S.] at Aix-la-Chapelle; d. 29 June 1855 [N.S.] in Paris), born Delphine Gay. She also wrote under the pen-names Vimconte Charles de Launay and Madame Émile de Giradin, amongst others.

Tchaikovsky's Settings of Works by Giradin

Giradin's romance Il m'aimait tant!, published in 1842, was set by Tchaikovsky in a Russian translation by Aleksey Apukhtin as He Loved Me So Much, No. 4 of the Six Romances, Op. 28 (1875).
