Giulio Ricordi (1840-1912)

Italian music publisher (b. 19 December 1840 in Milan; d. 6 June 1912 in Milan).

Guilio inherited the music publishing business founded in 1808 in Milan by his grandfather Giovanni Ricordi (1785–1853). Under Giulio's management the firm prospered, opening branches in London (1875), Paris (1888) and New York (1911). He played a significant role in promoting the works of his friends Verdi and Puccini.
