- ↑ The envelope containing this letter bears Tchaikovsky's note: "Due to happenstance this reply could not reach you until today" (Вследствие случайности этот ответ и сегодня не мог дойти до Вас). The composer was replying to Kruglikov's letter dated 10/22 November 1887.
- ↑ Tchaikovsky's visiting card, enclosed with this letter, contains the following note: "I ask you to admit S. N. Kruglikov to rehearsals for the Russian Musical Society concerts" (Просит пропускать на репетиции концертов Р[усского] муз[ыкального] общ[ества] С. Н. Кругликова) — Tchaikovsky State Memorial Musical Museum-Reserve, Klin (a3, No. 260).
