Я была вчера Вам написал ответ, но, к стыду своему, утратил Вашу карточку и не знал куда послать. Сегодня Кашкин сообщил мне Ваш адрес. Спешу сообщить Вам, что Вы имеете полную свободу посещать репетиции. На всякий случай посылаю, однако, свою карточку.

Most respected Semyon Nikolayevich!

  1. The envelope containing this letter bears Tchaikovsky's note: "Due to happenstance this reply could not reach you until today" (Вследствие случайности этот ответ и сегодня не мог дойти до Вас). The composer was replying to Kruglikov's letter dated 10/22 November 1887.
  2. Tchaikovsky's visiting card, enclosed with this letter, contains the following note: "I ask you to admit S. N. Kruglikov to rehearsals for the Russian Musical Society concerts" (Просит пропускать на репетиции концертов Р[усского] муз[ыкального] общ[ества] С. Н. Кругликова) — Tchaikovsky State Memorial Musical Museum-Reserve, Klin (a3, No. 260).
