7 April 1888 Dear friend! We'll discuss Borisoglebsky when we meet [1]. I categorically promised to pay for it, and must not repudiate this, but I don't want to pay all the money at once, because I need it very much to tide me over the summer — I'm afraid there isn't enough to last me until 1st October (when I'll be receiving another 6000 from N. F. von Meck). The score of the violin concerto is in one of the cases which is coming or has already arrived from Paris. I'll bring the full score of the "Pezzo" with me. It is absolutely essential that I review the parts of the 4th symphony. The parts of the 1st can probably be done without me. I'll be arriving soon after you receive this letter, i.e. at the start of Easter week. Until we meet! Yours, P. Tchaikovsky |
