26 December 1886

Golubchik Nikolasha! I returned to the village yesterday and I'm spending spend 2 weeks here. I received your most kind letter today. Kiss Georgy from head to toe for me. I congratulate you and Olechka on the New Year and hug you both tenderly. The opera will be on, if not on the 15th, then no later than the 20th [1]. I should be very happy if there were one more white-haired relative from the Kryukov canal in the claque. Do come, Nikolasha!!!

I kiss you hard and thank you for your letter. Sorry to reply to you in just a few words. I have a mass of letters to write. Until we meet.

P. Tchaikovsky
