4 ноября Милый, дорогой Саша!
Сегодня мне переслали из Москвы твоё письмо. Я хотел было отвечать телеграммой, но ты, вслед за Leipzig, написал такое странное слово (Eutzitjsch), что я испугался и предпочитаю ответить письмом, хотя боюсь, что и письмо не дойдёт. Во 1-х) очень благодарен тебе за согласие участвовать в Берлинском концерте. Во 2-х) с радостью принимаю приглашение приехать в Лейпциг на устраиваемый тобой концерт. Самый удобный для меня день был бы 10 февраля — вашего колбасницкого стиля (по-нашему 29 января), более двух дней мне остаться будет трудно, ибо вслед затем я должен спешить в Прагу. Итак, голубчик, имей в виду, что от 10 до 12 февраля (колбасницкого стиля) я могу быть в Лейпциге и страшно буду рад присутствовать на концерте. Вероятно, мы из Берлина поедем вместе с тобой. 4 November My dear fellow Sasha!
Your letter was forwarded to me from Moscow today [1]. I wanted to respond by telegram, but you, after Leipzig, wrote such a peculiar word (Eutzitjsch) that I was alarmed and preferred to reply with a letter, although I fear this won't reach you either. Firstly, I'm very grateful to you for agreeing to participate in the Berlin concert [2]. Secondly, I gladly accept the invitation to come to the concert you are hosting in Leipzig. The most convenient date for me would be 10 February — in your sausage style [3] (29 January according to ours), it would be difficult for me to stay more than two days, because immediately afterwards I must dash off to Prague. Therefore, golubchik, bear in mind that I can be in Leipzig from 10 to 12 February (sausage style) and will be awfully glad to participate in the concert [4]. We'll probably leave Berlin together. Reply to me by letter or telegram to Moscow, Jurgenson, for forwarding to me. I'm going to Moscow the day after tomorrow [5]. I embrace you, and kiss Vera Pavlovna's hands. Yours, P.
