This is a letter of introduction to Yuly Dmitryevich Engel, who wishes to enrol in the Moscow Conservatory. I had occasion in Kharkov to become acquainted with him and his marvellous talent for music. - ↑ Joel (Yury) Engel (1868-1927) was accepted into the Moscow Conservatory in September 1893, where he studied with Sergey Taneyev and Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov, graduating in 1897. He went on to become a music critic and journalist, and was the author of many articles on Tchaikovsky's music.
