16 October Ye. K. Lavrovskaya is begging me to give her a copy of the romances [1]. Could you arrange for someone to dash off a copy? I should like this, firstly, in order to oblige this most dear lady, and secondly, so that she might sing a few of the romances somewhere, which would be very nice. Partly in view of the hast with which I wrote these romances, their small size, and, principally, that you have to spend money on a translation, I certainly don't want you to register a fee of more than 300 rubles. Yours P. Tchaikovsky |
