French composer and pianist (b. 13 October 1853 in Paris; d. 31 August 1915 in Paris), born Charles Henri Jacques Dusautoy.
Dusautoy made some piano transcriptions of works by Tchaikovsky, about which the two men corresponded in the late 1880s and early 1890s.
Correspondence with Tchaikovsky
3 letters from Tchaikovsky to Jacques Dusautoy have survived, dating from 1886 to 1891, all of which have been translated into English on this website:
- Letter 2999a – 8/20 July 1886, from Maydanovo
- Letter 3219a – 4/16 April 1887, from Maydanovo
- Letter 4357 – 25 March/6 April 1891, from Paris
5 letters from Dusautoy to Tchaikovsky, dating from 1886 to 1891, are preserved in the Tchaikovsky State Memorial Musical Museum-Reserve at Klin.
