German horn player, and one of the founder members of the Berlin Philharmonic (b. 1851; d. 1890).
In 1887, Schneider invited Tchaikovsky to conduct at a Philharmonic concert in Berlin, where the composer conducted his overture-fantasia Romeo and Juliet on 27 January/8 February 1888 [1].
