Paris 24/16 March 1881 Most respected Sergey Vasilyevich!
I should like the enclosed article [1] to be published as soon as possible in the "Moscow Register". I feel that I am rendering a service to the many admirers of the deceased by informing them — but I do not know whether it is suitable for printing and will be accepted by M. N. Katkov [2]. I earnestly request your assistance in this. The article is complete, and my information incomplete — but I am too overcome by grief to write anything sensible. Your sincerely devoted, P. Tchaikovsky Would the form be suitable for a letter to the editor? |
