French author and journalist (b. 14 February 1838 in Courmonterral dans L' hérault; d. 1924).

Blavet's most famous work was Au pays Malgache (1897), an account of a visit to Madagascar. He was a regular contributor to the newspapers Le Gaulois and Le Figaro, in which latter capacity he corresponded with Tchaikovsky in 1888.
