Kamenka, 1st September

Dear Karlusha!

One day a young lady Miller, who intends to enrol in the Conservatory, will present herself to you with my card. I asked Nikolay Albertovich [1] if it is possible for her to be placed in the complex (since she is my scholarship student and I should not wish to pay 200 rubles) and to ask you about this. Besides this, I urge you, golubchik, to acquaint here with some of the female Conservatory students living in her apartment, who could assist her with finding a room and becoming generally settled. I asked Sofiya Alekseyevna [2] to accept Miss Miller in the inexpensive apartments — but I think it's too late, and she will have to make other arrangements.

Forgive me, golubchik, for disturbing your affairs. I kiss you firmly, and also send greetings to Anna Leontyevna and all the children.

P. Tchaikovsky
