Berlin 16/28 January 1890 Golubchik Tolya!
I find myself held up for several hours in Berlin. I arrived this morning and tonight I'm moving on, directly to Florence. I don't know how long this will take, but until then I find being abroad awfully horrible. How I would rather be at home, in the country, or with you at Tiflis. I hope that once I start to work my bad mood will pass. We'll see! Yesterday and today I vividly imagined that you had returned home and settled around your old haunts. Nazar, it seems, is very pleased about the trip, and I'm glad to have someone around me, or I should probably have been far more homesick. Write to Florence, Poste restante. I beg Panya and Kokodes [1] to write to me. I kiss you all. |
