28 October 1891 Most respected Osip Osipovich!
I shall have the Mise en scène for "The Queen of Spades" (which I admire more than ever, and for which I do not know how to thank you) copied and will send it to Prague in two weeks' time. I cannot give it to the copyist now, because I have great need of it. It will be impossible to achieve the same vitality, significance and movement in the mise en scène without it. But as soon as everything has been sorted out, in three days, I shall give it to the copyist and send it off to the Neditelstwi Divadla. Sincerely devoted and affectionate, P. Tchaikovsky |
