Ma chère Tante Lyse et mon oncle Je suis charmé de la chère lettre que vous nous avez ecrit et je suis bien content que vous mon oncle vous portez déjà bien et que vous avez une très jolis maison et sans doute que vous avez tou se qui vous faut, des chevaux c'est le plus nécéssaire. Je crois que vous pouvez bien trouver du thé tres souvent parceque Omsk ou la Siberie n'est pas loin de la Chine. Le jour ou nous avons recu votre premiere lettre il y avait un bal et une promenade sur le bateau à Vapeur qui etait construit ici par Messieurs les Anglais. Cette promenade a été a Oustrechka sur la Kama les machines sont déjà vieille elles ont été prises de Astrackan. Mais le bateau à vapeur, de vue est très jolis, il y a trois cahutes avec des fenetre mais il va tres lentement dans une heure 2 verstes. Au milieu de la promenade va tres vite un bateau et annonce que le général Glinka vient, mais personnes ne l'avait rencontre, on vient à la maison et papa se rendi chez le général. Adieu, Pierre

My dear Aunt Lyse, and my uncle I am charmed by the sweet letter that you wrote to us, and I am very pleased that you, my uncle, are doing so well and that you have a very nice house and without doubt with you have everything you need, the horses being the most essential. I think that you will find lots of tea, because Omsk or Siberia is not so far from China. The day we received your first letter there was a ball and a tour on the steamboat, which was built here by English gentlemen. This tour went to Ustrechka on the Kama; the engines are already old, they came from Astrakhan. But the steamboat looks very nice, there are three cabins with windows, but it goes very slowly at 2 versts an hour. In the middle of the voyage a very fast boat announced that General Glinka was coming , but there was no one there to meet him; we came home and Papa went to off see the general. Goodbye, Pierre
