Низы 27[-го] Вчера получил депешу твою и целый час прыгал от восторга. Сейчас написал в Каменку, чтобы партитура первых двух действий была тотчас отправлена на твоё имя. Я надеюсь, что Мессер сделает оба действия. В случае же, если он возьмётся сделать только первое, то второе раздели между Кашкиным, Баталиной и Абрамовой и слёзно попроси их от меня помочь мне. Впрочем, конечно, не нужно заставлять их работать даром. Я готов даже вполне отказаться от всякого гонорария, лишь бы сбыть с плеч ненавистную работу. Предупреди Meccepa, что я не успел вполне просмотреть партитуру и что, вероятно, он найдёт много мелких описок, которые попрошу его исправлять, а в случае сомнений ставить знаки, а я в своё время сомнения эти разрешу. Я останусь здесь ещё несколько дней и в начале июля вернусь в Каменку. Надеюсь, что к 1-му сентябрю вся партитура будет готова. Я желал бы, чтобы клавираусцуг был сделан как можно тщательнее. Nizy 27th Yesterday I received your dispatch and jumped with joy for a whole hour. I've just written to Kamenka so that the full score of the first two acts would be sent off to your address forthwith. I hope that Messer does both acts. In the event that he undertakes to do only the first, then the second is to be divided between Kashkin, Batalina and Abramova, and tearfully beg them on my behalf to assist me. But of course, you need not force them to work for nothing. I'm even prepared to completely renounce any sort of fee, if only to rid myself of this loathsome work. Forewarn Messer that I didn't manage to completely review the full score, and that he'll probably find numerous small mistakes, which I ask him to correct, and to mark any dubious cases, and I'll resolve these doubts in due course. I'm staying here for a few more days and then returning to Kamenka at the beginning of July. I hope that the entire full score will be ready by 1st September. I should like the piano reduction to be done as meticulously as possible. I have high hopes for Messer. I'm rushing to write, the post is about to go now. Sorry for the slapdashness. Yours, P.
