| По причине снежных мятелей и заносов боюсь задержки в дороге и не решаюсь выехать. Не имею из Большого театра известия об опере. Прошу узнать, когда репетиции и первое представление. Во всяком случае выезжаю не позже шестого числа.

Owing to relentless snow and drifts afraid of delays on the road and dare not leave. Have had no news about the opera from the Bolshoi Theatre [1]. Ask you to find out when rehearsals and first performance are. In any case will leave no later than the sixth inst.
