Nice 14/2 January 1872 Your letter to me was very surprising and upsetting. As a matter of fact, it's hardly possible for me to travel via Leipzig; and if I were to go there, then what do I know? I read the manuscript most thoroughly, and if there are oversights, then they are so unimportant that not only Hubert and Kashkin, but even Hippius couldn't fix them. So you should either manage without me, or wait for my return, which has to be by the end of the current month. The latter would be unfortunate, because it will tie me down again. I bow to Sofya Ivanovna. The weather here is excellent. Goodbye. P. Tchaikovsky |
