Dear Tolichka!

I'm very concerned about the matter of the Musical Society sending you 200 rubles. The fact is that there will be no meeting of the Musical Society's directors until the end of August or the beginning of September, and without a meeting such an order cannot be made. The financial director (K. S. Alekseyev) is also not presently in Moscow. However, I've just written to Jurgenson (another director) asking him, if possible, to arrange for the necessary funds to be sent to you somehow. It would be best and simplest if I could send you two hundred rubles myself, but the fact of the matter is that I have no money at all now, for reasons which would take a long time to explain. I'll drop a hint to Jurgenson in order that he might send you something on account himself, but I just know that Jurgenson's finances are relatively tight now. Be that as it may, I'll do everything that I can. At the beginning of September this can be done without difficulty, but you really need it now! God, I'm so annoyed that my financial situation is so poor at this present moment.

As soon as I receive Jurgenson's answer I'll let you know forthwith. I'm not writing anything about myself, because I'll see you soon. I'm completely well now. And you keep well! I hug you, golubchik!

Yours, P. Tchaikovsky
