4 апреля с[ело] Майданово Христос воскресе! Троекратно целую вас, мои милые! Теперь уж скоро увидимся. В начале фоминой я выезжаю в Каменку на несколько дней, а оттуда в Тифлис. В своё время, конечно, дам знать телеграммой. Надеюсь, что отпраздную с вами день своего рождения, а если нет, то во всяком случае Толино рождение будем вместе торжествовать. Вижу из письма твоего, что тебе очень бы хотелось, чтобы я не брал с собой вашу общую с Толей антипатию - Алексея. Но, только извини, Паничка, я его возьму. Теперь я уже настолько становлюсь стар и избалован, что мне трудно обходиться без услуг своего собственного слуги. Да, впрочем, Алексей совсем не такой изверг естества, каким вы его считаете. Пожалуйста, при выборе дачи не стесняйся цифрой; бери как можно поместительнее и лучше. Ведь я охотно часть платы беру на себя, и даже сколько хочешь значительную. Очень радуюсь, что в Боржоме есть воды, которые могут заменить Виши. Но есть ли доктор, способный указать, как их следует пить? Впрочем, это все мы увидим и решим, когда я буду в Тифлисе. Не опасайся, что я в Каменке заживусь. Ведь мне необходимо поскорее быть на месте, чтобы начать работать. Мне очень хорошо жилось в последнее время в Майданове. Погода была чудная, снег разом растаял, река прошла, птички появились, бабочки начали летать, и в довершение удовольствия приехал Боб и провёл у меня несколько дней. Боб становится все милее и милее. 4 April Maydanovo village Christ has risen! I kiss you three times, my dears! Now I'll be seeing you soon. At the start of St. Thomas's week, I'm going to Kamenka for a few days, and thence to Tiflis. Of course I shall let you know by telegram in good time. I hope to celebrate my birthday with you, but if not, then in any case we'll celebrate Tolya's birthday together. I see from your letter that you are very keen for me not to bring yours and Tolya's common antagonist — Aleksey. But just forgive me, Panichka, I'm bringing him. I'm now becoming so old and spoiled that it's hard for me to manage without the services of my own servant. And anyway, Aleksey is altogether not the freak of nature that you consider him to be. Please, when choosing a dacha, don't be coy about the figure; hire the best and most comfortable you can. After all, I'll gladly take part of the payment upon myself, and even as much as you want. I'm very glad that Borzhom has waters that can stand in for Vichy. But is there a doctor, capable of telling you how to drink them? Anyway, we'll see and decide all this when I'm in Tiflis. Have no fear about my living in Kamenka. After all, I need to be somewhere as soon as possible to start working. My life at Maydanovo recently has been very good. The weather was wonderful, the snow melted all at once, the river flowed, the birds appeared, the butterflies began to fly, and, to top off the pleasure, Bob came and sent several days with me. Bob is growing sweeter and sweeter. Regarding Emma, you and I are in complete agreement. I was terribly afraid that she would be living with you in the summer. She is a fine, splendid person. P.
