Notes and References
- ↑ According to a note by Karl Albrecht, this was written on 7/19 November 1887, although Tchaikovsky was in Saint Petersburg on that date, and only arrived in Moscow the next day (8/20 November), remaining there until his return to Maydanovo on 16/28 or 17/29 November. The editors of the Soviet collected edition of Tchaikovsky's letters published this in an appendix to П. И. Чайковский. Полное собрание сочинений, том XVII (1981), p. 268-269, with the date "8 November (?)" [O.S.], and without a number in the general sequence of letters.
