18 ноября Голубчик Сергей Иванович! 1) В суете отъезда я забыл возвратить офицеру Корякину его рукопись; если он зайдёт за ней, потрудитесь сказать ему, что я привезу её в воскресенье. Против печатания я ничего не имею, но не могу вмешиваться в дела Юргенсона, хотя скажу ему, что с музыкальной стороны препятствий к изданию не вижу. 2) Перед отъездом я получил от Гольцева приглашение участвовать на юбилее Успенского, но не мог ответить, ибо, во 1-х, забыл как зовут Гольцева, а во 2-х не знал куда адресовать ответ. Если возможно, при случае передайте непосредственно или посредственно Гольцеву, что по известным Вам причинам стремился в деревню и остаться на целых 2 дня из-за обеда не был в состоянии. 3) Хотел написать С. И. Масловой восторженную благодарность за сумасводительные грибы, которые вчера уже кушал на здоровье, — но опять-таки не могу вспомнить: Малый Власьевский или Малый Афанасьевский переулок и чей дом? Итак, при свидании скажите ей и вообще Масловым, что я полон благодарности. 4) Вы чудный, милый человек и великолепный пианист, и я ужасно люблю Вас. Ваш, П. Чайковский В воскресенье буду.

18 November Golubchik Sergey Ivanovich! 1) In the commotion of my leaving I forgot to return officer Koryakin's manuscript to him; if he calls for it, kindly tell him that I'll be bringing it on Sunday. I have no objection to it being printed, but I cannot interfere in Jurgenson's affairs, although I'll tell him that I see no obstacles to publication from a musical point of view. 2) Before leaving I received an invitation from Goltsev to participate in Uspensky's jubilee, but I couldn't reply because, firstly, I forgot Goltsev's name, and secondly, I didn't know where to address the reply. If the opportunity arises, inform Goltsev, directly or indirectly, that you know of reasons why I had to leave for the country, and was not in a position to remain a further 2 whole days for the dinner. 3) I want to write to S. I. Maslova to express my enthusiastic gratitude for the mad mushrooms, which I already consumed yesterday for my health, but yet again I cannot remember: is it Little Vasilyevsky or Little Afanyevsky Lane, and which house?
