Modya! I absolutely can't find the time to write letters. I'll just be sending you brief news.

Cologne was a huge success. After the suite the musicians were called upon to give me a triple flourish [1]. Today was the first rehearsal for the Frankfurt concert. I'm homesick and pining terribly. The foremost calamity is that one can never be alone, compounded by perpetual fatigue to the point of numbness. Tomorrow there's a rehearsal and concert. The day after it's Dresden. I'm sending you an article which came out on the day of the Cologne concert in the "Kölnische Zeitung". Show it to Zet [2] and give him my regards. Hugs and kisses to everyone.

P. Tchaikovsky
