Dear Sasha!

Laroche will be here tomorrow and is staying for some time. Send the proofs right away [1]. I'll do everything possible to hurry him along. I hug you and Boris [2].

Notes and References

  1. Tchaikovsky was replying to Aleksandr Jurgenson's letter of 30 June/12 July 1889, regarding Herman Laroche's overdue work on a foreword and commentary for Modest Tchaikovsky's Russian translation of Aleksandr Ulybyshev's three-volume Nouvelle biographie de Mozart (1843), which was being prepared for publication by Pyotr Jurgenson's firm.
  2. During Pyotr Jurgenson's absence abroad, his son Boris Jurgenson and nephew Aleksandr Jurgenson (son of Osip Jurgenson) were both managing his publishing business from Moscow.
