  1. Tchaikovsky was replying to Pyotr Jurgenson's letter of 19/31 March 1892, concerning the French spelling of the title of the opera Iolanta. Anton Yuryevich Simon (1851-1916) was a music professor and member of the Moscow Philharmonic Society.
