- ↑ Dated according to the period when Tchaikovsky was in Moscow during the early autumn of 1877.
- ↑ This letter was written on the cover of a manuscript copy of Tchaikovsky's arrangement of the Festival Overture on the Danish National Anthem, which was originally composed in 1866. The arrangement was published by Jurgenson in April 1878, although the full score did not appear until 1892.
- ↑ The Six Romances, Op. 6 were first published by Jurgenson in 1869. A new edition, including a French translation by Sergey Donaurov, was issued in April 1878 (passed by the censor on 21 January/2 February 1878). It appears that Tchaikovsky sent Jurgenson a first edition of the score with Donaurov's French text inserted by hand.
