Army officer and paternal uncle of the composer (b. 1793; d. 1850), born Vladimir Petrovich Chaykovsky (Владимир Петрович Чайковский).

Vladimir was the ninth child of the composer's grandparents Pyotr Fyodorovich Tchaikovsky (1745–1818) and his wife Anastasiya (b. Posokhova, 1751–?). He became an army officer, later Governor of Okhansk (near Perm), and married Mariya Petrovna Kamenskaya (d. 1842), by whom he had four children: Nikolay (1828–?), Boris (ca.1831–1893), Pyotr (1833–?), and Lidiya (1836–1892).
