15 April 1893 Klin Dear friend Ilya Ilyich!
I've just received my photographs from Fedetsky [1]. He is a first-class photographer; at least I have seen none better. Golubchik, could I trouble you to perform the following tasks. Go to Fedetsky and ask him to fulfil the following order for me:
The sooner he does them, the better. They should all be sent to P. I. Jurgenson in Moscow, who will forward them to me (I will probably be abroad at the time), and the account is to be sent directly to Jurgenson, who will immediately send the required amount [2]. In the 10 days since returning from Petersburg, I have decided, for the want of money, to write a few little piano pieces [3], and have conditioned myself to write at least one a day during this month. These musical pancakes are gently baking, and have already grown to ten in number. I hope that you are all well. A thousand bows and gentle greetings to Serafima Vasilyevna and the children. Yours, P. Tchaikovsky |
