My dear chap! A few things I forgot to tell to you.

1) Modest writes that he's afraid he might asked for too much from you for the libretto [1], and he asks me to find out and reply. But I think it would be easier if on this occasion you were to dash off a few words to him.

2) Please kindly take the trouble to send a copy of "The Sleeping Beauty" in Langer's simplified arrangement to the town of Mtsensk, Orlov province, to Ivan Romanovich Tsivinsky.

3) Please, if it's not too much trouble, ask the Moscow directorate for the royalties from "Yevgeny Onegin". I should like to receive a good half of these any day now.

4) As soon as the first act is completely ready, could you arrange for a copy to be run off and sent to me; the sooner, the better. Thereafter likewise with the other acts [2].

Did your drive go well yesterday? Did you have supper with Kashkin at the "Hermitage"?

Yours, P. Tchaikovsky
