The firm of Bote & Bock published the score of Tchaikovsky's overture-fantasia Romeo and Juliet in 1871, at the instigation of Nikolay Rubinstein. Tchaikovsky was personally acquainted with Hugo Bock, and some correspondence between the two men has survived.
