Тотоша, мой милый! Завтра, наконец, я уезжаю из Рима и по сообщённому уже тебе плану еду сначала в Париж дня на два, а потом в Берлин и Петербург. Я рассчитываю следующим образом (русский стиль):
Я, конечно, не ручаюсь за совершенно точное исполнение проекта, но решительно не предвижу, чтобы что-нибудь могло задержать меня. Если же это случилось бы. то я тебе сообщу о перемене депешей. Но мне кажется, что, скорее, я приеду раньше, т. е. 5-го. Это зависит от того, как я буду чувствовать себя в Париже. Если мне покажется скучно, то выеду днём раньше, т. е. 1-го марта. Сегодня один из тех дней когда целый день болит живот от предстоящей разлуки с милыми людьми и далёкого путешествия. Мы укладываемся; Коля суетится. Модест грустен и серьёзен, Алёша сердится на суетящегося Колю, а я пишу тебе и утешаю себя мыслью о том, что скоро увижусь с тобой и с другими милыми людьми. Толичка, как бы сделать, чтобы вовремя моего пребывания в Петербурге я мог бы заниматься? Нельзя ли мне поставить какой-нибудь столик в твоей уборной или в Володиной спальне? Впрочем, если затруднительно, то обойдёмся и так. Пиши, пожалуйста. если ещё успеешь в Берлин. А если по расчёту окажется, что поздно, тогда придётся обойтись без известий о тебе до самого Петербурга. Зато как я рад буду тебя увидеть! Целую крепко. Твой П. Чайковский |
Totosha, my dear fellow! Tomorrow I'm finally leaving Rome, and as I already told you, my plan is to initially go to Paris for two days, and then on to Berlin and Petersburg. My itinerary is as follows (Russian style):
Of course I cannot vouch that everything will go entirely according to plan, but I absolutely cannot foresee anything that could delay me. If this happens, then I'll notify you by dispatch about the change. But it seems to me that it's more likely that I'll arrive earlier, i.e. on the 5th. It depends on how I feel in Paris. If it seems tedious, then I'll leave a day earlier, i.e. 1st March. Today is one of those days when my stomach hurts all day long from the imminent parting of the ways from those dearest to me and the long journey. We are packing our things; Kolya is fussing. Modest is sad and serious, Alyosha is angry with Kolya's fussing, and I'm writing to you and console myself with the thought that I'll soon be seeing you and other dear people. Tolichka, how can things be arranged so that I can work during my stay in Petersburg? Couldn't I put some sort of table in your closet or in Volodya's bedroom? Anyway, if it's difficult we'll make do somehow. Please, write, if there's still time to catch me in Berlin.
