Golubchik Tolya! I arrived here yesterday; there was a terrible snowstorm, and the channel crossing was awful. I've still not seen anyone. Tomorrow I have a rehearsal; the day after a rehearsal and the concert, and the next day I'm leaving, as I said in the telegram, more or less directly for Tiflis. But you're asking yourself: how will he get there? I should have liked to dash over to Naples and go from there by sea, but I'm afraid of the March storms, although I awfully want to avoid the monotony of BerlinWarsaw. At any rate I'll be with you soon. Paris brought me to a state of near insanity, during which I was tormented and struggled to shake off various persons who wanted to exploit my success in Paris. Lord, how glad I am that the end of this awful life is at hand. It seems to me that these three months have taken several years off my life.

Kisses, hugs; wait for a telegram.

P. Tchaikovsky
