Dear friend!

I am dedicating the ballet to Ivan Aleksandrovich Vsevolozhsky [1]; don't forget to put this on the title page in big letters. He is terribly proud of my dedication.

God knows when the ballet's going on! In all probability it will be January [2]. In any case, I shall soon be in Moscow. I've done the proofs of the choruses [3]. and will bring them tomorrow.

Yours, P. Tchaikovsky
