*   *   *

*   *   *

Misses Sashenka and Lenockha wanted
To make funny poems mocking me,
And so they tried, they strained, they perspired,
And they gave birth to five little rhymes...

*   *   *

But unlike my proud mighty genius,
Barely seated on the chair, and just like that,
A stream of wonderful chants is ready
With which to strike you both down...

*   *   *

Let his ugly cheeks be puffed out,
Let him now be the Devil incarnate,
And yet the same Yelena and Sashuta
For all this, are awfully fond of him...

P. Tchaikovsky
