Sergey Borisoglebsky

Russian baritone with the Imperial Theatres (b. 22 September/4 October or 5/17 October 1864 in Moscow; d. 8 January 1927 in Moscow), born Sergey Alekseyevich Borisoglebsky (Сергей Алексеевич Борисоглебский).

The son of the deacon of Saint Sofia's Church in Moscow, he studied singing at the Moscow Conservatory from 1884 to 1890, where he was a grant-aided student nominated by Tchaikovsky. In 1890 he made his debut in Milan, and regularly appeared on the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg (1892–1895) and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow (1895–1908), as well as with the Italian Opera company.
