Vera Tretyakova (1844-1899)

Wife of Pavel Tretyakov (b. 1844; d. 1899), born Vera Nikolayevna Mamontova; (Вера Николаевна Мамонтова); known after her marriage as Vera Nikolayevna Tretyakova (Вера Николаевна Третьякова).

Vera was the daughter of Nikolay Fyodorovich Mamontov, a manufacturer of varnishes and paints. In August 1865 she married the Russian businessman and philanthropist Pavel Tretyakov (1832–1898), who was later to become a director of the Russian Musical Society. From time to time, Tchaikovsky visited their home in Moscow during the 1880s to discuss arrangements for charitable concerts in the city.
