Vladimir Nápravník (1869-1948)

Lawyer and son of Eduard Nápravník (b. 1869; d. 1948), born Vladimir Eduardovich Nápravník (Владимир Эдуардович Направник).

Vladimir was the oldest child of the Czech conductor Eduard Nápravník (1839–1916) and his wife Olga (b. Schröder, 1844–1902). He became a lawyer, and secretary to the board of the Russian Musical Society in Saint Petersburg.

Tchaikovsky had good relations with all the Nápravník family, and corresponded regularly with them. As Vladimir recalled in his memoirs "Despite the fact that he was of the same age as my father, he took me 'seriously', acquainted me with his brother Modest [...] and introduced me also to the company of his nephews and their friends".
